I offer down-to-earth, evidence-based counselling and psychotherapy for teenagers and adults struggling with anxiety or stress. I help my clients understand and manage the fears, anxieties or negative self-beliefs that hold them back from living the life they hope for. Do you wish you were only more confident so you could do the things you really want to? You might be dreading facing school/uni/work every day. Or you might be dealing with difficult feelings around family separation or conflict, relocation, or have other deeper worries that you find difficult to talk through with your closest friends and family.
I help clients of all ages overcome debilitating anxiety to re-engage with a richer, more rewarding life. I have worked with teenagers for many years and have heard first-hand the issues they face helping them to build on their strengths and overcome barriers to positive change.
I offer you a safe space to share just what you need to, without fear of judgement or "bossy" advice giving. I can help you manage your anxiety and other difficult emotions to find inner strength to live the life you want to. I will work collaboratively with you and tailor my approach to suit your situation and comfort.

Anxiety and fear are often at the heart of many difficulties. My clients benefit from addressing emotions holistically by fostering awareness of emotions as they arise in body sensations, thoughts, beliefs and automatic behaviours. Emotional regulation is improved through acceptance, reappraising beliefs, and, importantly, through body-based techniques to calm the nervous system.

The types of therapies we can explore together will vary according to your unique needs, personality and comfort. I find ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is often a helpful framework for counselling sessions. The focus in ACT is on growing self-awareness, acceptance and commitment to a client's values and goals, and is supported by mindfulness exercises.
