I focus on men's counselling. It's not that I don't counsel women it's just that men have different ways of dealing with problems that require another kind of approach. The Situational Approach says “this person is going through some exceptional event and they need help dealing with it” rather than “they have a mental health problem and we need to treat the illness”.
For years I have been studying how men deal with their issues- it is different to women - and I could talk about that for ages! My experiences have included working with indigenous men and women, LGBQTI clients, separating parents, relationship issues, self-identity issues, work stress issues and prevention of suicide.
I'm an elder and I have a very broad range of life experiences to draw upon. I'm easy going and easy to talk to. During the isolation I'm available on Facetime or Skype. Otherwise I'm happy to meet at yours, mine or out in nature; wherever it is you feel most comfortable.
