DBT Family Support is a program designed to support family members and loved ones of individuals experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder or emotional dysregulation. DBT Therapy is a comprehensive treatment for those who experience emotional dysregulation. DBT Family Support targets the family/loved ones by teaching DBT skills to apply to their own personal coping. It will focus on communication in the relationship and creating a life worth living while loving someone who is experiencing active symptoms, in treatment or recovery.
DBT Family Support offers a 10 week skills and support group. Facilitated by DBT's nonjudgmental framework the group will provide support and education. It will focus on reinforcing skillful behaviours through increasing the level of empathy and validation in the relationship.
