Summoning the courage to talk to a professional about what is distressing us can be the most difficult, but also the most powerful step towards improving our wellbeing and our lives to a standard that we are more satisfied with and that we deserve. I aim to create a space where the client feels safe, whilst also communicating trust, compassion and understanding so that I may understand what their current experience is truly like for them. I integrate various schools and models of therapy, which I have assessed, are the best intervention for a client in each session and closely monitor their reaction to these.
Therapy allows clients to have a space whereby they can explore their inner self and fully express themselves, without ever having any fear of judgement. In this therapeutic capacity it is expected that a person can become stronger, and find the awareness and ability within themselves to overcome the concerns that brought them to therapy initially.
I have over 21 years experience, studying and working in the fields of Psychology and Mental Health. I am qualified in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with Post Graduate Training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and hold a BSc in Psychology. I worked with those experiencing severe mental illnesses for 10 years before qualifying as a Therapist.
