Neuroscience has attested to the truth that we are hard-wired to connect, yet many people feel disconnected from others in contemporary world. Many suffer from alienation from themselves, fearfully not knowing what to make of the surge of unconscious impulses/feelings/fantasies. Psychotherapy is to redo these alienations, to bring wholeness to oneself and to one’s relationship, and to enhance more satisfaction in love and work. Seeing my clients boldly and lovingly embrace their true self and feelings with compassionate understanding brings me greatest joy.
My training as a psychoanalyst helps me look deeper in my clients’ issues with compassion, yet psychoanalysis is not necessarily long-term. Informed by my immersion in AEDP model(Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy and Transforming Couple Therapy), I look at capturing and nurturing resilience from the client and couple member from the start.
My focus is on regulating overwhelming feelings to make a safe haven for my clients to unfold .Years of involvement in diverse Christian ministries have shaped me to be spiritually-sensitive, being able to discern between healthy and unhealthy religions and to make good use of client’s spirituality for transformative connection to Higher Life's purposes.
