I work most effectively with those struggling with emotional injuries incurred in past and current relationships. I also treat anxiety, depression and trauma. I believe that people are capable of tremendous growth and change when provided with the right conditions of safety, attunement and encouragement. I see my clients within the context of their most important relationships and I find ways to help people turn toward others in their life in new ways to understand and manage their emotions.
I am a Registered Play Therapist and trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Theraplay and EMDR. When working with couples, individuals, teens, and parents, I take both an attachment-based approach to build security in their relationships. With children ages 3-12, I use play therapy to help them better understand themselves and their world.
It takes courage to reach out to a therapist, whether you've been to therapy before or are just now seeking help. Of utmost importance is to find someone who you can begin to build a trusting relationship with. I pride myself on being able to walk alongside people, "holding hard stories" as they navigate some of life's more difficult moments.
