If you experience overwhelming anxiety loops, feel the weight of grief, or are impacted by trauma - I might be a good fit for you. I can help by pointing out patterns or themes that I notice, explore how and why the brain is wired the way it is, and help you build up armor to face whatever life throws at you. A typical session with me includes talking, cursing, crying, laughing, questioning, and a whole lot of compassion.
I provide counseling and art therapy. I'll invite you to make art, talk about the process, and explore all the thoughts and feelings that bubble up. I also offer EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), a technique that helps disarm negative thoughts and get you unstuck. I'll create a blended approach that works best for you.
Counseling is like cleaning out a closet. It may take a while to hype yourself up to do it, but then you finally jump in, and well, it can be daunting. All of the sudden there is stuff everywhere and you're left sorting it all out. I'm here to help - let's look at what's been tucked away, throw a few things out, contain other stuff, and process the rest!
