I am a licensed psychologist and offer individual therapy to adults. I specialize in working with clients who have difficulties related to the impact of stressful or traumatic events and have experience in evidence-based treatments for PTSD. I also help clients with anxiety and depression. Clients may have a specific goal for therapy or want to focus on personal growth. In all cases, I tailor my approach to best support clients in connecting with what matters most in their life. In the past 10 years, I have worked in a variety of settings and enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds.
My approach to therapy is client-centered with attention to creating a supportive and secure therapeutic relationship, which I believe is necessary for therapy to be effective. My primary theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral. I am also trained in and frequently integrate mindfulness-based, interpersonal, and compassion-focused interventions.
I am also co-founder of Juniper Psychological Services, a small private practice dedicated to providing inclusive and competent psychotherapy. Juniper is located in North Portland with easy access to public transit and street parking.
