I approach counseling from a systems perspective. A systems way of thinking states that you impact, and are impacted, by the family you grew up in as well as the one you are currently a part of. I view counseling as a collaborative process in which we will examine the source of your concerns, problems, and relationships in the context of a safe, therapeutic relationship. We will develop a plan of action for reaching your personalized goals and will incorporate your unique strengths, resources, supports, and culture.
Believing strongly in human resiliency and the value of being understood, I integrate principles and techniques from Ecosystemic Structured Family Therapy (ESFT), Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).
