I am trauma informed & trauma focused. Working with me will often mean looking at issues and challenges being experienced through the lens of how trauma and stress have affected you. My goal as a therapist is to foster a relationship where you feel safe, heard, and validated. From this place of safety, we can collaborate to create a plan to address the reasons you are seeking support and to heal. Relationships can be the source of many challenges in our lives. This could be how we relate to ourselves, others, or the world in general. Through addressing how we relate to ourselves and others we can experience powerful positive change.
I have a passion for and experience in helping others who have experienced trauma, stressful events, anxiety, depression, substance use, self-harm, addiction, eating or food related issues, and relationship problems. I believe the same approach will not work for everyone and I will work with you to identify what works for you.
Helping others means, to me, being able to apply a variety of approaches. In order to do that I have received training in a variety of modalities of treatment including EMDR, DBT, CPT, ACT, CBT, EFT in addition to others. I am willing to learn and grow with you and will add new approaches in order to help you get where you want to go.
