Feeling emotionally safe and connected to a partner is a human need, which is why being in a difficult relationship can be so agonizing. You see your partner every day, the one you desperately want to feel loved by, and yet no matter how hard you try, your attempts at connection end in rejection, or a fight. You want so badly to be heard, to feel cherished. But instead you feel alone and not good enough. You wonder why the two of you can’t seem to get it right, and if maybe you just aren’t meant to be together. Although your situation may seem hopeless, there is a path back to connection. Conflict is not caused by lack of love.
Love is what drives it. But you’ve learned to protect yourselves from pain by defending, criticizing, or shutting down. This keeps you locked in a cycle of disconnection. I’ll help you understand the deeper reasons you get stuck. In session, I’ll guide you to vulnerably speak to your partner in a way that will soften their heart and draw them closer to you.
We’ll go at your pace, gradually building the safety and intimacy between you, until you feel like a team again, and have the ability to maintain the intimacy between you.
