Julie is an LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician who believes the most important thing we can do for our kids is meet them where they are, as they are. It is her goal to create a therapy space that feels warm, welcoming, and safe for children and teens come as their most authentic selves. She believes that therapy can be a space for laughter, tears, anger, joy, grief, pain and so much more. She believes in authenticity, a genuine connection, and sharing of the journey. Clients will find her to be enthusiastic, engaged, open, and honest with them as they journey together.
Julie’s primary focus is using non-directive Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) to work with clients ages 3-13. With teens, a client-centered approach is taken, which means a range of modalities – focused on client need and readiness – are employed.
Julie is trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, CCPT, Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), and the CAMS model of suicide prevention. She believes in working with each person as a whole human – with all the complexities that come with that. Julie offers a free 1 hour initial consultation to parents to ensure that this is the right fit for each child or teen.
