Why Melanin Mommy Therapy? I created Melanin Mommy Therapy with a passionate focus on uplifting Black Women! As Black Women, we often feel the weight of the world on our shoulders grappling with stress, anxiety, and depression, while society overlook our strength. But let’s flip the script! We are the foundation of so much, and it’s time embrace our power and resilience.
I'm a certified clinical trauma professional with a background in Counseling Psychology. I launched my private practice in 2021 and specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy, holistic methods, and the use of art and music to help with issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and maternal health. I founded Melanin Mommy Therapy to create a safe and supportive environment for Black women. Too often, when seeking help, Black women are placed in the role of educator instead of being given the chance to truly process their own emotions. A space where Black women are heard, understood, and valued. Together, we can break the cycle of generational silence.
