We all have the answers to our challenges but sometimes we need a neutral person to help us sort it out. That is what I believe therapy is about; sorting through struggles together. I have a straightforward and practical style and have gathered many tools and techniques in my 15 years of counseling to share with you. You need to have the willingness and openness to learn new coping styles to face your challenges. I am licensed in Maine and Massachusetts.

My ideal client feels overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, ADHD, the lingering effects of trauma or just stuck in life. They're seeking clarity, emotional balance, and a way to break free from negative thought patterns that keep them stuck. They want more than just coping mechanisms—they're looking to transform their life, to rediscover purpose and joy. Together, we’ll work to uncover what truly drives them, heal emotional wounds, and create a path toward their highest and best self.

My belief that each of us has the potential to heal and transform, guides and informs my work as a therapist. I help people overcome anxiety, deal with depression, and emerge from trauma. I approach each person individually with warmth and compassion, and I strive to help harness a person's own natural strengths to work through problems of substance use, major life transitions, or concerns centering on gender and sexual identity. My therapeutic approach stems from extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - including Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma.

Fall 2024: limited openings for couples and individuals! Perhaps you’re here to get unstuck. You’re dismayed by the way your problems feel repetitive and difficult to break away from. You spin your wheels in frustration, or are stifled under the weight of a nagging depression. Even in some of your closest relationships, you feel disconnection. You might attempt to numb the pain with substances, TV binges, or endless scrolling, and your attempts to change seem to fade away or just not work. The result is that you often feel hopeless.

Hello and welcome! My goal as a therapist is to help individuals achieve overall health and wellness. I serve clients with eating disorders, addictions, trauma, depression, anxiety, and identity and relationship issues. I believe change is possible, but I also know it can be very difficult and discouraging. I will help you identify and use your strengths to make lasting changes in your life. I believe that understanding and awareness of oneself is the first step in the change process. My goal is to help clients understand why they have not sustained changes in the past and what they can do differently in the future.

Fear, anxiety, and depression seem to be almost universal. I have worked with my clients to lessen and resolve these issues. As you decide to take the next step in your healing, know that my understanding and extensive experience are available. Living in an era of multiple addictions makes recovery from dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors a daunting proposal.

Our problems are very reliable. They keep presenting themselves for our consideration. Your ability to be successful in therapy is closely tied to your willingness to stop and look around, take ownership, and choose a path forward. This requires creativity, effort, and courage. You employ your existing skills and strategies while learning new ones, ultimately moving each day towards living a life of integrity - a life in which your actions match your values. You stop running from problems and instead welcome their return, because these problems help you clarify what is truly important. The problem becomes the solution.
