I know you're "fine, totally fine, absolutely fine"...but just in case you're a little "not fine", I'm here. Maybe you are here because people whom you’ve naturally turned to for care and protection have hurt or neglected you in some way. Or maybe you're here because you have found yourself unable to honor the commitments and promises that you have made to yourself; or those whom you love due to your addictive behaviors. It takes time to allow the reality behind our symptoms to reveal themselves. Treatment can help you feel more present in the moment, in control of your world, compassionate towards all of your parts, and safe.

While therapy is far more openly accepted than before, it can often still feel intimidating as many people are still not sure what to expect. From my view- therapy is really going to be what each individual person wants to make of it. My goal in is to help determine what is most important to you and work together to create a realistic plan to help you achieve the changes you want to see.

“Life be lifing!” How often are we saying this to describe how hard life can be? Life can throw a lot at us that is challenging to manage. This can often leave us feeling overwhelmed, unsettled, inadequate, and/or stuck. We may not be able to specifically name the impact, but we know we aren’t feeling like ourselves, and our previous coping strategies aren’t helping to return to our “normal.” Taking a step back to reflect and gain awareness can be helpful to make progress. Sometimes we need a supportive person to listen, validate, provide insight, and a fresh perspective to assist in developing strategies that can help us flourish.

As a musician and therapist, I've learned that at the heart of both great music and a life worth living is the ability to be playful. Like a musician's practice room, therapy is a space to learn how to play. The process is about discovering new ways of being in the world that write against the patterns and memories that we find ourselves stuck in and haunted by. The aim of the work is to find peace through creative thinking and living.

As a therapist, I believe empathy and trust build a foundation for my clients to achieve the change they are seeking. I believe structured sessions ease the concern of the unknown and provide my clients skills to achieve their goals and enjoy their life to their fullest potential. I also feel flexibility is import. I primarily work with individuals focusing on anxiety and depression related symptoms whether these are a chronic condition or related to life circumstances. We all can benefit from a supportive, judgment free, and empathic relationship.

Imagine a day when anxiety doesn’t hold you back. A day when you don't feel trapped in the most painful parts of your past. When you feel close again to your partner, your friends, your family. If it’s hard to imagine, that’s ok. You are not alone. And you don't have to figure it all out on your own. I've been working with survivors of abuse and trauma since 2014, particularly with those who’ve experienced sexual abuse and assault. I’m dedicated to helping you overcome the issues that are keeping you from the life and connections you want. Let’s talk. I’ll work hard to make sure you feel comfortable, safe, and genuinely understood.

These are difficult and troubling times for many of us. There is a lot of uncertainty about the future, and a fair number of people feel isolated, and afraid. I have over 20 years' experience as a psychotherapist as well as training in theatre, especially improvisation. I can offer you skills to get past fear, challenge your thinking, and connect with all of your possibilities. I use a combination of evidence-based techniques, including improvisation and creative arts, to help you get past your "comfort zone."
