I deeply believe that our society and environment can deeply effect us and be traumatizing. I want people to be free in whatever way that looks for them. I offer non-judgmental approach that focuses on feeling comfortable and okay, as well as learning to tolerate discomfort. I believe mental health work is no linear and an on-going lifelong process. I'm very aligned with the LGBTQ population, sex workers, people in poverty, & those with chronic illness.

My name is Jaissen Jackson I have been in the mental health field for 12 years. I graduated from Salve Regina University with an MA in Mental Health Counseling and Vocational Rehabilitation in 2016. I've worked at a community mental health center for the past 12 years. I have experience in severe and persistent mental illness, addiction counseling and case management.

As a licensed mental health counselor, I approach the process of therapy as an art and a science requiring both creativity and skill. Thus, my approach to therapy is as diverse as my clientele. As rapport is built, I use interventions that resonate with the individual. DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing are examples of modalities I use complimentary to my psychoanalytic training.

Psychotherapy doesn't have to be a mysterious process. I try to work openly with my patients to lay out a path for easing their distress and engaging more happily and effectively in their lives. I seek a balance between exploring the past for insights while also working in the present to make life better. I offer an open, compassionate place to explore how memories, thoughts, and emotions affect and limit people in their current experiences. With those insights I support patients in venturing past familiar limitations to live a better life.

I have been a clinician for 20 years working with adolescents, adults and families in crisis. These stressful experiences may include suicidal ideation, self harm, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship discord. I have experience with crisis management, problem solving, goal development and coping strategies to help restore stability and hope. I am certified to work with individuals starting at age 16, as well as couples and families. I have experience in working with clients who struggle with trauma (PTSD), anxiety, panic, ADHD (all types), depression, physical disabilities, and navigating the ADA legal system. I have over a decade of experience working with military families, legal issues, criminal issues, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy.

Elise N. Jarvis, LMHC is a licensed clinician in RI who has provided clinical care since 2010. She received her Master's degree in Psychology and then continued her academic career earning an Advanced Counseling Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College. Her training has honed in on: trauma and recovery work, behavioral difficulties, self-injurious thoughts and behaviors, suicidality, parent-focused interventions, and coping skill and sensory implementation.

My name is Jasmen D. Rice, PsyD and I am a Clinical Neuropsychologist. I specialize in the evaluation of cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative conditions that more commonly affect older adults. These conditions include, but are not limited to, dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease, vascular disease, and Lewy bodies. Sometimes, changes in memory and thinking can occur for other reasons, such as depression or anxiety, the effects of medication, chronic pain, or other medical conditions, such as multiple sclerosis or normal pressure hydrocephalus.

I work with young adults and adults in various life stages and I realize that pursuing therapy takes a great deal of courage. Debra Jean-Laurent earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and her Master’s degree in Agency Counseling with a Concentration in Chemical Dependency from Rhode Island College. She has been working in the field of mental health for over 30 years in a variety of behavioral health settings and has experience working with adults, teens and families who are struggling with a variety of mental health and substance abuse concerns. I am passionate about self-discovery, exploration and healing. I have come to learn that a tremendous amount of people feel alone, disconnected, anxious and fearful.
