I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to providing compassionate and supportive counseling/psychotherapy. I work with individuals both long and short term. Wanting to understand why adverse or difficult things happen to us is natural. When one can contribute a sense of meaning to a difficult situation the power of the problem is often integrated and diminishes. Therapy is a process that can help an individual find the transformational quality in their adverse experiences and become empowered, instead of overwhelmed by them.
Therapy can help individuals discover healthy coping strategies to manage current and future problems. Coping strategies are the intentional efforts one makes to manage and minimize stress. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy including Psychodynamic, Depth Psychology, CBT, and EMDR.
Regardless of the problem, stressor, or hardship, everyone can benefit from seeing a therapist. Therapy can help one overcome current stressors and arm them with the skills needed to effectively manage them now and in the future. One can go from an on-going cycle of survival to a life in which one thrives.
