Looking for the best class in Diablo 4's new expansion Vessel of Hatred? Diablo 4's Season 6 is here with the Vessel of Hatred expansion, which brings a new character into the mix with the Spiritborn, a warrior from the Nahantu jungles with the ability to summon animal Guardians. Season 6 also alters the tier list of previous seasons with fresh difficulty levels that totally upend Diablo 4's endgame.

In this guide, we've written up a tier list for Diablo 4, ranking all classes - including Vessel of Hatred's Spiritborn - on how well they perform in Season 6's new difficulties.

Best classes in Diablo 4

From worst to best, here is our ranked list of all six Diablo 4 classes:

Below, we'll break down each class, covering their strengths and weaknesses so that you can see why they've ranked in the order listed above.

6. Barbarian

The Barbarian was one of the best classes during Diablo 4's initial release, and it's still a decent option for wrecking enemies as a tank and speed farming. But alas, this bulky warrior tumbles down to sixth place simply because it can't rival the damage output of its peers at high difficulty levels.

That said, despite nerfs, the Barbarian's most reliable build is still the Whirlwind Barbarian, which spins through crowds of enemies with good Fury generation. When paired with Legendary Aspects such as Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind (which increases Crit Chance) and Uniques such as Gohr's Devastating Grips (which makes Whirlwind explode after it ends), Whirlwind works well. Just be aware that you'll still be lagging behind other classes especially if you're attempting Torment 3 and 4 difficulty.

5. Druid

With the advent of the Spiritborn, the Druid is no longer the only nature master of Diablo 4. It's still a class that offers up a plethora of options, from commanding wolves on the battlefield to travelling with an animal companion to swapping between Earth and Storm spell combos. The Druid's also reliable at inflicting debuffs such as Vulnerable and Immobilized, offering solid crowd control over demon hordes.

While the sheer variety might be great, as of Season 6, the Druid's ability to deal high damage is only average. If you do want to play as this class, focus on speed farming with the old mainstays that have served the Druid well since Season 1 - the Pulverize Druid build and the Storm Druid build.

4. Rogue

The Rogue's high mobility once made it our favourite class in Diablo 4. It's still a super fast option and especially great at speed farming thanks to the synergy between the Twisting Blades and Shadow Imbuement skills, which lets you explode your foes with gusto. If a ranged Rogue is your thing, we've got a Penetrating Shot build guide available, and Dance of Knives is also a fine skill to keep enemies at bay with a constant stream of AoE damage.

When it comes to tackling bosses at melee though, the Rogue falls short, with its single target skills feeling weak. Taking down bosses without assistance is can be a grind, making the Rogue number 4 - not the worst, but no longer our favourite.

3. Necromancer

The Necromancer has remained fairly consistent throughout Diablo 4's Seasons, and once again takes third place in our ranking with the release of Vessel of Hatred. If you're interested in this class, go with the Bone Spear Necromancer build, which was the first to reach level 100 in Season 1. The Blood Necromancer build is also excellent for pushing into higher level content and wrecking bosses with Hemorrhage and Blood Lance.

Despite these strengths, the Necromancer has always struggled with survivability and slowness. You'll need to stay out of melee range while hurling your Bone Spear, at least until you have a Thorns build that'll kill melee enemies before they kill you. Minions can prove capable of drawing enemy aggression, but they're also quite fragile. To survive content at the highest levels, you'll need to possibly rely on some co-op allies to tank through the big hits.

2. Sorcerer

The Sorcerer has perhaps changed the most on our rankings over the years. Once taking the bottom spot on our list, it's now at the top due to buffed skills, which lead to extremely potent spell combos. Go with a Fire Sorcerer build, and you'll have Fireball's Enchantment effect, which makes enemies explode on death and synergises with almost any DPS spell to cause a chain reaction that melts mobs in moments. Alternately, try a Chain Lighting Sorcerer for crackling AoE effects, or an Ice Sorcerer for a build that works very well against single targets and bosses.

These nuke-like spell combinations make the Sorcerer an excellent class for Season 6. Its also easy to pilot, with simple ranged attacks that will wreak havoc from afar. The biggest issue it runs into is fragility, as the Sorcerer can easily be taken down by endgame-level foes.

1. Spiritborn

As you might expect for a class introduced in a shiny new expansion, the Spiritborn takes top marks as Diablo 4's best class in Season 6. While it may be nerfed over time, this class currently delivers on all fronts thanks to its highly diverse summonable Guardians - the Centipede, Eagle, Gorilla, or Jaguar. Want better attack speed? Get the Jaguar Guardian. Prefer a defensive build? The Gorilla Guardian is your friend. In some ways, the Spiritborn's variable nature is reminiscent of the Monk, which old Diablo players might be familiar with.

At the moment, I'm highly fond of the Quill Volley and Touch of Death Spiritborn builds. The Quill Volley build emphasises the Eagle Guardian and the Quill Volley skill, which sprays feathers that pierce through enemies. Combine this with the Soar skill, which lets you fly upwards and crash into foes, and end the combo with the Hunter, which lets you barrage across the battlefield. The Touch of Death build, meanwhile, uses the Centipede's Touch of Death to mark a target with Poison damage. When combined with Noxious Resonance, which causes Poisoned enemies to burst and hurt surrounding mobs, the overall effect is fantastic.

Ultimately, the Spiritborn is fast, flexible, and furious. There's just a tonne of potential here, which makes this jungle warrior our current favourite class for dominating Season 6.

That wraps up our tier list of all classes in Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred expansion.
