Given the new iPad Air (M2) has recently launched there are only small (if any) discounts available on Apple's latest 11-inch and 13-inch tablets right now. Prices start from $599 / £599 / AUS$999, but we've seen reductions of up to $100 in the US so far – and are expecting more in the months ahead as we get close to the big end-of-year sales.
The older iPad Air (2022) has also been discounted to a record-low price at some retailers, but stock is now dwindling and it's sold out in many places as the device has been discontinued. If you do see it available somewhere, though, now's a good time to buy if you don't mind older tech as you can get a bargain for a still capable tablet.

What's new in the iPad Air (M2, 2024)?
The new iPad Air 6 also has 11-inch and 13-inch models with storage starting at 128GB. Prices start at $599 / £599 / AUS$999 for the 11-inch version and $799 / £799 / AUS$1,299 for the 13-inch – that's the same as the last generation model.
In terms of new features, the latest iPad Air is powered by the M2 chip for up to 50% faster performance compared to the M1.
Is the old iPad Air (2022) worth buying?
The iPad Air (2022) offers many of the same features as the much pricier last-generation iPad Pro range. It has a very attractive-looking 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone support. That means it'll look good in all lighting conditions, including if you're outdoors. Overall, though, we picked out the Apple M1 chip as the highlight in our iPad Air (2022) review. It's the same chip you see in the iPad Pro range as well as many MacBook laptops too.
Long gone are the days when tablets feel like inferior laptops as this iPad Air is versatile with support for the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation), Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio. USB-C connectivity is a good extra, too, while a 12MP wide camera on the back and a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera are handy for video calls.
The iPad Air (2022) starts at $599 / £569 but there are huge discounts available now given it's been replaced by the 2024 version. However, stock is now low or exhausted at some retailers given it has been discontinued. If you still find it available it can be scored at a bargain price, but it won't be available much longer.
