The Logitech MX Master 3S Mouse is one of the most famous mice around both creative circles and professional circles for good reason. This mouse keeps getting better and better with every version upgrade. Not only did we find this mouse incredibly comfortable even during all day use, but it has a vertical and horizontal scroll wheel, a multitude of programmable buttons that can be customized to do different things even between different applications, and it has a gesture button allowing a simple press to turn into even more customized control.

What impressed us was the ability to connect the mouse to three devices at once, and, with the simple press of a button, switch seamlessly between them. To make things even easier, through the companion software, this mouse can enable Logitech Flow which will allow copying and pasting between devices, even Mac and PC as well as scrolling across multiple devices at once. This feature will allow you to have up to three devices sitting on a desk and without any extra work or devices, that mouse and keyboard that follows can move through all screens.

To say that this mouse is incredibly powerful would be an understatement, which is why we knew this mouse had to be featured on our best MacBook accessories round-up. This upgrade model includes USB-C Charging and quieter tactile clicking, making the beloved experience even better than before.

The best MacBook Pro portable monitor

LG Gram +view 16MR70

2. LG Gram +view 16MR70

Ideal for when you need a second screen

Reasons to buy

+
Good picture quality
+
Simple to set-up and use
+
Lightweight and slim

Reasons to avoid

Not made for creatives

The MacBook Pro features one of, if not the best screen on a laptop - but if you need to expand your display, we especially like the LG Gram +view 16MR70 portable monitor.

With a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, the 16in IPS panel provides a clear display. Contrast is an impressive 1,210:1, although at 350nits, brightness is about average. At just 1.45lb, it's also remarkably slimline and lightweight for commuter-friendly travel. And the two USB-C ports means it pairs well with Apple devices.

However, it's not the best solution for content creators. Color space coverage here is 99% DCI-P3, which is good for video editing. But If you're editing photos or designing, we recommend the Asus ProArt Display PA148CTV, which boasts 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709 color gamut, and Calman-verified color accuracy,

Best triple-screen display for MacBook Pro

The triple threat

Single USB cable

Reasons to avoid

-

If a single additional display isn't enough, The Portable Monitor Flex 14-inch might be the right accessory for you, adding a screen either side of your laptop for massive amount of real estate.

In its space-grey and aluminum metal casing, there's no denying the Flex blends in nicely with the MacBook Pro aesthetic. True, it's not as well-constructed as Apple products, but in use, we found it sturdy and stable, and on the heavy side.

It's a versatile peripheral, powered by a lone USB-C cable. What we especially like here is the option to use one or both displays, with a single screen able to work in portrait and landscape mode. For groups, you can even arrange the three screens in a triangle, to be viewed from multiple angles. The 72% sRGB color space coverage is arguably the display's biggest weakness, particularly for the MacBook's wide user-base of content creators. But it's easy to set up, performance is impressive, and it's a great way to add extra screens to your MacBook Pro.

The best portable MacBook Pro battery charger

Baseus Blade

4. Baseus Blade

Best MacBook Pro accessory for portable charging

Reasons to buy

+
Slim portable design
+
Large power bank
+
100W PD charging

Reasons to avoid

-
No AC outlet
-
Only two USB-C ports
-
No wireless charging

The Baseus Blade isn't just our top pick for MacBooks - we've reviewed all the latest units and this is our favorite laptop power bank for just about anyone on macOS or Windows. Here, you'll find a powerful 20000mAh power supply with 100W power delivery built in. This slim-built portable charger has a built in display that shows the current battery percentage, voltage, and current display.

Not only is this battery pack a good size battery, it also charges pretty quickly thanks to its 100W output. Furthermore, the Baseus Blade can fully recharge itself in 1.5H assuming you use a 65w or higher brick to charge the portable power bank.

We wish there was wireless charging built into the top for ease of use, however we have defaulted to utilizing the two USB-C or two USB-A ports to charge our devices on the go.

The best GaN USB-C charger for MacBook Pro

Satechi 200W USB-C Charger

5. Satechi 200W USB-C 6-port PD GaN charger

A fast way to power up your MacBook Pro

Reasons to buy

+
Fast charging
+
USB-C ports
+
Stands horizontal or vertical

Reasons to avoid

-
Limited port selection

A GaN charger offers a speedy way to charge your devices, and for us, Satechi excels at this without breaking the bank. The company offers a variety of charging stations for laptops, but this one caught our eye since every port here is USB-C, making it very MacBook Pro-compatible.

This charging station has 200W of output power. Satechi splits the power output as follows: 65W/45W/20W/20W/20W/20W when there are 6 devices connected, or if you connect 1 device to to PD1 or PD2, you can get up to 140W off of a single port.

Some nice additions for this docking station is the ability to have it stand up vertical using the stand for stability, or laying the charger on it's side and rest it on the little rubber feet for stability.

These charging stations are perfect for on the go travel to charge power hungry devices like the MacBook Pro, or less power hungry devices like cameras and smartphones, however these are also great for an office space. We've found having one of these docks at a desk where you may be charging a lot of gear, or need to be able to charge gear quickly is super helpful.

The best MacBook Pro laptop dock

Perfect for expanding ports

Reasons to buy

+
Four dual HDMI/DisplayPort outs
+
Powered by mains or USB-C
+
Easy to use
+
Compatible with MacBooks

Reasons to avoid

-
Can get warm in use
-
Single USB-C (outside of host cable)

Our top choice of laptop dock is the IOGear Dock Pro, which is suitable for macOS and Windows devices. In fact, even after review, we still frequently use the Dock Pro to test displays because even on M-series MacBooks, it's easy to run.

This dock boasts 12 useful ports, four of which are display outputs supporting both DisplayPort and HDMI. Elsewhere, you'll find a microSD and standard SD slots, three USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and a headphone jack -and that's just on the front of the unit. True, it does lack Thunderbolt 4 - and if that's what you need, we recommend checking out the Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim dock (available from Amazon in the US and the UK). However, we found it simple enough to daisy-chain devices to allow for additional USB-C and Thunderbolt ports.

The design is simple and compact, and feels stable with its rugged metal construction. Performance is also excellent, and even months after our initial review, we've experienced no issues using it.

The best MacBook Pro portable desk

Moft Sit-Stand Laptop Desk

7. Moft Sit-stand Laptop Desk

Redefining the workspace

Reasons to buy

+
Adjustable positions to sit or stand
+
Folds down flat for storage
+
Lightweight and ultra-portable
+
Clever design

Reasons to avoid

-
Large laptops are a little wobbly at full height
-
No extra features

The Moft Sit-Stand Laptop desk is a truly impressive feat of origami craftsmanship - and our top choice for laptops and tablets in our round-up of the best standing desk converters

Constructed from fiberglass with a PU coating, the laptop desk is ultra-lightweight and portable, small enough to carry in a backpack. When folded down, it's effectively flat, making it very easy to transport between workspaces inside and out. Beautiful though it is, this the impressive foldability and portability here means the laptop desk does lack the sturdiness of larger products. Weight load is only 22lb, and we found it best for lighter devices. Nor will you find additional storage, cable management, and extra worktop surfaces, like some of the larger desk converters we've reviewed.

It's a fair trade-off, however, if you're looking for a portable sit-stand laptop desk and, like us, love the simplicity and deceptively clever design of this desk.

The best MacBook Pro laptop stand

Moft Adhesive Laptop Stand

8. Moft Adhesive Laptop stand

A 'built-in' stand for ergonomic comfort

Reasons to buy

+
Adds built-in laptop stand
+
Improved ergonomics
+
Clever design
+
Portable

Reasons to avoid

-
Adheres to MacBook Pro base
-
No additional features

The Moft Adhesive Laptop Stand shocked us. We did not expect to like this as much as we did. After all, who wants to stick anything to the base of the MacBook Pro and destroy that sleek silhouette. Yet it quickly became one of the best laptop stands we've reviewed.

Once we adhered the stand to the laptop, our initial concerns were allayed. It's barely noticeable when not in use. If anything, it adds a bit of grip to a slippery laptop. When engaged, the stand lifts up the laptop, raising screen and camera to a more ergonomic height - so, no more straining your eyes and neck by looking down. The first optional angle is 15 degrees, perfect for giving a bump and still having a comfortable typing experience. The second height option is 25 degrees which we have found to be fantastic for video calls or just scrolling through content.

Both angles are remarkably easy to achieve with a flick of the stand. After a few goes, it becomes second nature. In fact, we learned to love this stand so much that when we grab laptops that don't have it, we feel like something is missing.

The best MacBook Pro wireless charging mat

Journey ALTI

10. Journey ALTI Wireless Charging Desk Mat

Clear-up workspace clutter

Reasons to buy

+
A tidy way to charge devices
+
Wireless charging
+
Space for papers
+
Reversible design

Reasons to avoid

-
Price
-
Requires clear work surface

The Journey ALTI Wireless Charging Desk Mat is a clever way to cut down on clutter on work surfaces. Some desk mats are designed as a non slip, some for comfort, some for looks, this one is for functionality.

Peel away the corner of this mat and you'll find a flat space tuck away any paper or notes, and it also has a wireless charging pad designed to charge your phone and headphones. Basically, goodbye random sheets of paper flying around and tangles of cables across the desk. For a way to organize a workspace fast, we really like this option - although it's admittedly more expensive than cheaper online brands.

The wireless charger is detachable from the desk mat, and can deliver up to 15w to a charge through qi wireless charging. Another cool element to this desk mat and charging pad is that the desk mat is reversible giving users the option of a classic vegan leather top, or a plush and soft felt top.

The best MacBook Pro hard-shell cover

Satechi Eco Hardshell

11. Satechi Eco Hardshell

Protect your MacBook Pro

Reasons to buy

+
Protects
+
Eye-catching and cool

Reasons to avoid

-
Unsuitable for MBP over 14in
-
Alters laptop shape and design
-
Not IP rated

Satechi's Eco-Hardshell case for the MacBook Pro is a matte and clear casing that protects the entire outside of the laptop. For us, buying an Apple device is making an investment, so we appreciate the extra protection you won't find with a soft sleeve or traditional case.

We're always wary of doing anything to ruin the beautifully clean design of the MacBook Pro - as shown with our Moft Adhesive Laptop Stand review. However, while the Satechi Eco hardshell case does alter the appearance of the laptop, it does not make it look worse. In our opinion, it actually look pretty cool, in a very different way to a MacBook without a case.

Besides, the benefits far outweigh the slight modification in appearance. Having something that we know can help in the event we drop our MacBook is huge. Further, knowing that there is an extra layer of protection for things accidentally falling or sliding on the MacBook is great too. We would've liked to see more rugged here, an IP rating or two never goes amiss. If you need to protect your MacBook Pro, though, this is a very snug fit.

The best MacBook Pro webcam

Still a top webcam

Reasons to buy

+
Superb quality for the price
+
Sturdy build quality
+
Excellent autofocus
+
In-app image enhancement

Reasons to avoid

-
30fps frame-rate cap
-
No variable FOV
-
No lens cover

The Logitech C920 may not be cutting-edge new, but it's still one of the top webcams you can get, offering great image quality at a low price. That ideal balance between cost and performance is why it's favored by everyone from office professionals to content creators and streamers.

Its bar design is simple, with a central camera lens flanked by microphones and LED lights. In our review, picture quality proved excellent from the moment we connected the device to our laptop - and you can further enhance saturation, brightness, and contrast through the Logi Capture app. Still image resolution is 1080p, and both 1080p and 720p video is capped at 30fps. We would've liked to see 60fps, but this is one of the trade-offs for the price. Likewise, there's no lens cover to protect the camera when not in use. So, it's not the most powerful webcam in the world, but arguably the best for most people and most uses, especially at the price.

Best MacBook Pro accessories: Frequently Asked Questions

What are MacBook Pro accessories?

MacBook Pro accessories are additional hardware that can be paired with the laptop to supercharge productivity and utilize the device better. These accessories can help enhance connectivity, storage, battery, and display too.

How to choose the best MacBook Pro accessories for you

When it comes to choosing the best MacBook Pro accessories, you’ll want to consider your needs to pick a relevant tool.

If you often connect multiple devices or use external storage, then you’ll need a connectivity dock for your laptop that has USB 3.0, Ethernet, HDMI, and Thunderbolt 3 ports. But if you need only basic USB 3.0 connectivity, then a smaller connectivity port will suffice.

If you game on your laptop or do creative work like video editing and music production, then you’ll need a mouse to work efficiently and swiftly. If you’re a power user, then a mouse with customizable buttons will be quite useful.

Expanding the internal storage on a MacBook Pro is pretty expensive, but you can enjoy plenty of storage with an external hard drive. You’ll want to pick the storage depending on the kind of work you do and the space you need.

If you’re on the road often, a portable power bank for your MacBook Pro will be a lifesaver. For added convenience, check whether the power bank offers wireless charging.

Lastly, if your workflow is complex and needs multiple apps open, an extra monitor will be perfect. For easy carrying, you’ll want to consider how large it is and whether it can be attached to the back of your laptop.

For extra portability, we've compared the best laptop backpacks and bags.

How we test the best MacBook Pro accessories

To find the best MacBook Pro accessories, we looked at some of the standard requirements a user would have: connectivity, workflow, storage, charging, and display.

In terms of connectivity, we looked at how large the dock was and how many types of connections it offered, like USB 3.0, Ethernet, HDMI, etc. For enhanced workflow with a mouse, we considered how smoothly the mouse operated, its battery life, and whether it had customizable buttons.

For storage, we evaluated how rugged and durable the hard drive was and how much storage space it offered. For charging needs, we looked at the size of the power bank, how much it could charge the laptop, and whether it offered wireless charging for greater convenience.

Lastly, we looked at external monitors for enhanced productivity. We looked at their size, quality, portability, and whether they latched on to the back of the laptop for easier viewing.
