Kalyan is one of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in the State of Maharashtra, India. The constituency was formed following the 2008 delimitation. It comprises six Assembly segments of Thane district. One of the Assembly seats, Ambernath, is reserved under the Scheduled Castes category. Politically, Kalyan has been a stronghold of the Shiv Sena since 2009. Shrikant Eknath Shinde, son of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, has represented the constituency since 2014. In the 2019 polls, Shrikant Eknath Shinde secured victory over Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate Babaji Balaram Patil.
