The counting of votes for the Odisha Assembly elections is underway for 147 seats.
With 78 seats, the BJP is the single largest party. It won 72 seats and is leading in 6 seats. The BJD won in 50 seats and is leading in one seat. The Congress won 14 seats, while the CPI(M) has won a seat. Three independent candidates also won.

Naveen Patnaik, the outgoing CM, would have become India’s longest-serving Chief Minister, surpassing former Sikkim CM Pawan Kumar Chamling’s record, if the BJD won.
