Introduction

Janny's Cottage

Janny's Cottage, in the tiny hamlet of Tomacharich, has wonderful views of the magnificent north face of Ben Nevis and the Nevis Range Ski Centre.

It is located right in the middle of film locations that were used for Harry Potter, Braveheart, Rob Roy and the BBC TV programme 'Rockface'. It is also only about 35 miles from 'Monarch of the Glen' country.

This traditionally built cottage has been tastefully restored and equipped to a very high standard. Enjoy long summer evenings on the veranda and watch the sunset after a day exploring Loch Ness, Oban or the Silver Sands of Morar. In winter relax by the open fire after a day spent skiing or climbing in the nearby mountains.

Accommodation and Facilities

Janny's Cottage is strictly no smoking, and pets are not permitted. The cottage has ample parking.

First Floor

The Lounge The first floor lounge has exposed pitch pine rafters, a vaulted beam ceiling and solid Scottish oak flooring. Patio doors lead onto the furnished veranda with forest views to the west. The focal point of the lounge is the open log fire with its natural slate hearth. The fire is made available for stays between November and March. Concealed electric storage heating is also provided year round.

The first floor is also home to a double bedroom with adjacent bathroom. The bedroom offers fine views of the north face of Ben Nevis and the Aonach Mhor ski slopes.

Ground Floor

The Dining Area The ground floor open plan kitchen and dining room are tastefully designed with exposed brick walls and a painted beam and panel ceiling, with the added luxury of under-floor heated terracotta tiles. This is the perfect place in which to gather over breakfast and plan your day.

  • The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, cooker, washer/dryer and fridge.
  • The dining area has French doors overlooking a natural slate patio which in turn leads to the private garden and parking area.
  • A fully tiled toilet and shower room is adjacent to the ground floor twin bedroom.

Please note the property is not ideal for children under 3 years of age due to unguarded, open stairs. These are featured in an image on this pages and parents should check this and use their discretion when booking.
