Shahbaz Khan, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, and Jing Junhai, Secretary General of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, Jointly Unveiled the Plaque for the Mount Changbaishan UNESCO Global Geopark

On June 14th, the Jilin Province Tourism Development Conference was held in the Changbaishan Conservation and Development Zone. The Secretary General of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, Jing Junhai delivered a speech and together with Shahbaz Khan, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, unveiled the plaque for the Changbai Mountain Global Geopark. The conference was presided over by Hu Yuting, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Governor of Jilin Province. 

Jing Junhai emphasized the need to thoroughly implement the important instructions of the Secretary-General, President Xi Jinping on tourism, conscientiously implement the deployment requirements of the National Tourism Development Conference, adhere to staying true to the original, exploring innovations, improving quality and efficiency, and promoting integrated development. Mr. Jing said that efforts will be made to create a trillion-level tourism industry cluster, accelerate the construction of a strong tourism province, and work towards creating a better future for high-quality tourism development in Jilin Province. Jilin Province will strive to effectively transform the lucid waters and lush mountains, as well as the snows and ices, into invaluable assets, injecting vigorous energy into Jilin's comprehensive revitalization in the new era. It is also pivotal to keep pace with the times, grasp the trend, and comprehensively develop the "Ten Major Visions" for high-quality tourism development in Jilin Province, highlighting overall planning, year-round operation, all-weather drive, full-element empowerment, comprehensive industry integration, and full-chain support to promote sustained and far-reaching high-quality tourism development in Jilin Province. 

Hu Yuting pointed out that the development trend of Jilin's cultural and tourism industry is encouraging, and the future of building a strong tourism province is promising.  We must keep in mind Secretary-General President Xi’s mission of "protecting ecology and developing ecotourism complement each other", bravely establish the forefront of the development of the cultural and tourism industry in the new era, focus on the goal and strategic vision of becoming a strong tourism province, vigorously implement the trillion level tourism industry campaign, and build a world-class ice and snow tourism destination and a modern all-season and high-quality tourism destination. Jilin culture and tourism is sending out an auspicious promise to the world, welcoming travelers, entrepreneurs, experts, and people from all walks of life to share the development opportunities of Jilin Province, and actively investing, developing entrepreneurship, and sightseeing tourism in Jilin Province. We will continue to optimize the business and consumption environment, work together with everyone to strengthen the "big cake" of the cultural and tourism industry, unleash the great potential of tourism natural resources, build a large platform for cultural and tourism integration, accelerate the transformation of resource advantages into development advantages, and continuously create a new situation for the development of Jilin's cultural and tourism industry.

The conference also screened a promotional video of Jilin Province's tourism. Wang Xudong, member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Director of the Palace Museum, Zhang Zuqiang, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the China Meteorological Administration, and Zhang Rungang, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Tourism Association delivered speeches. Hu Jiafu, member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Yanbian Prefectural Committee, Zhang Enhui, member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Changchun Municipal Committee, as well as principal officials of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Changbaishan Conservation and Development Zone made exchange speeches. 

The conference was held in a video format, where Li Wei and Cao Lubao, leaders of Jilin Province, Sun Yong, Vice Governor of Anhui Province, and officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Meteorological Administration, and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, along with officials from Heilongjiang Province, Liaoning Province, Shaanxi Province, Anhui Province, and representatives from various departments in Jilin Province, key enterprises, and various cities and counties, as well as officials from the Changbaishan Conservation and Development Zone, attended the conference. French and Japanese diplomatic envoys to China, representatives of the Liaison Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Liaoning Province, domestic tourism organizations, well-known tourism enterprises, and investment and financing enterprises, relevant experts, scholars, and representatives of news media attended the conference at various venues.
