These are the top 3 hi-fi deals I was looking out for this Prime Day – and I’ve found them!

Music streamer: WiiM Pro Plus

Right before Amazon Prime Day kicked off today, I wrote this article highlighting the top three hi-fi products I would be keeping an eye out for during this flash sales event: the WiiM Pro Plus streamer, the Sony PS-LX310BT turntable and the Bowers & Wilkins 607 S3 speakers. In my experience covering these sales events in the past two years, I knew that any drop in price on these superb five-star products would be worth shouting about.

And here we are on day one of Prime Day and what do you know, two of these deals are live right now – and at even lower prices than I predicted! Both the Sony Bluetooth turntable and WiiM Pro Plus are currently available at their lowest prices for anyone wishing to capitalise on these great savings on these two talented and versatile products. I'm still waiting for the B&W speakers to drop even lower in price, but they are holding firm at their previous deal price – which is still money off their original price tag. We still have time for prices to drop even further before Prime Day ends tomorrow, of course.

Why these three products? They are some of the most engaging, feature-packed and entertaining hi-fi kit we've tested in recent years and they're affordable to begin with – so you'll be getting even better value out of them with these deals live now.

The WiiM Pro Plus is THE best affordable streamer to pass through our listening room in the last few months. It's compact, affordable, sounds great and is packed with every popular streaming feature. It was a steal at full price but with £50 off? It almost feels too good to be true.

WiiM's compact, incredibly affordable music streamers have taken the hi-fi world by storm, with its feature-rich, slick-to-use and great-sounding WiiM Pro Plus streamer being crowned a What Hi-Fi? Award winner within weeks of its five-star review.

It's the best budget music streamer we've ever tested and is cheaper than its next rival (the Cambridge Audio MXN10) by quite a distance. The original £219 / $219 price tag is a steal, but this lowest-ever £169 deal price makes this already-appealing Pro Plus even more attractive.

As a way to add wireless music streaming to an old system or for starting your hi-fi system on a budget, this WiiM – which is smaller than a paperback book – is easily one of the most recommendable products at the moment. I saw it get its first blink-and-you'll-miss-it deal during last year's Black Friday sales in the UK, with the price coming down to £179, but this Prime Day saving is even better. But don't wait around – this deal doesn't tend to hang around so if you want AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Chromecast, Bluetooth, internet radio and more from this tiny, affordable box, act now.

Sony PS-LX310BT turntable

Sony PS-LX310BT was £249 now £189 at Amazon (save £60)
This terrific Sony deck is the best Bluetooth turntable we've tested. With fully automatic operation, a built-in phono stage and Bluetooth streaming, the PS-LX310BT is ideal for modern vinyl fans who want convenience and an entertaining sound for their budding record collection.
Five stars

This Sony Bluetooth turntable has been around since 2019, and look how much the world has changed since then. For starters, that original £200 launch price has risen to stay steady at around £250 / $250 in the last two years, but we've also seen decent sudden drops in price – which is more than welcome on such a good turntable.

And Prime Day has once again delivered with the turntable dropping in price to £189 – I originally said any dips below £200 would be good enough for me, but a whole £60 off its retail price is a fantastic bargain.

Even with much newer, trendier-looking Bluetooth turntables on the market now (to mixed reviews), this Sony PS-LX310BT turntable holds up admirably. It has a built-in phono stage, is fully automatic in operation and you can connect to up to eight devices using its stable Bluetooth streaming. That's a lot of different features to get right and Sony does all that with ease and delivers an entertaining sound to boot. Pair it with Bluetooth headphones or active speakers and you have a tidy modern vinyl system. For this excellent £189 deal price today, you won't get any other turntable that can do what the Sony does better.

B&W 607 S3 speakers

Our favourite standmount speakers, winning a Best Buy award in the under £600 category as well as the most prestigious Product of the Year gong. They set the bar high for clarity, refinement and detail, but also have plenty in the way of punch and dynamism to entertain. In our five-star B&W 607 S3 review, we called them "entertaining in spades" and "a delight".

Okay, I'll admit: I haven't been successful in finding a lower deal price on the Bowers & Wilkins 607 S3 stereo speakers... yet. There is still one more day of Prime Day deals to go and I'll be scouring both Amazon and the specialist retailer websites to see if this speaker – or another equivalent alternative – is available for cheaper.

Even still, the B&W are on a £50 discount right now from their original launch price, and considering they only launched last summer and are a current What Hi-Fi? Product of the Year winner, it's a decent saving to make on a terrific pair of speakers.

These standmount speakers are compact and oodles of fun, delivering an impressive dose of clarity, insight, refinement and dynamics over the previous generation. For fairly small speakers, they have a huge impact and can play with a wide range of partnering kit – we tried them with amplifiers ranging from the entry-level Rega io to the premium PMC Cor and the B&Ws' talents shone through capably.

Fingers crossed for a bigger discount in the next few hours.
