Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is the latest entry in the Atelier franchise, a long-running series of JRPGs centered heavily around alchemy. This game takes place on a continent where alchemy is banned because centuries ago, Aladissian Empire was destroyed by an unknown disaster caused by alchemy.

However, our protagonist, Yumia Liessfeldt doesn't believe alchemy caused the downfall of the Aladissian Empire and sees alchemy can be a force of good as her dearly departed and kind-hearted mother was an alchemist herself. So Yumia vows to prove to the world alchemy isn't evil by joining the Aladiss Research Team uncovering Aladissian Empire's lost history in the hopes that alchemy wasn't responsible for its destruction.
