Exciting news! 🗣️ ACRP’s short films will be aired on People’s Planet (Channel 115) on Open View all through #climateweek. Starting with the journalism episode of the “Not On Our Soil” film series, which follows Ratlou Mabula and Kevin Bloom, two journalists dedicated to upholding the truth and reality of the climate crisis in South Africa. The film dives into their stories, the consequences of media platforms being bought and paid for by climate criminals, and how in the face of ecological breakdown - the ultimate lens - all journalism is climate journalism. The African Climate Reality Project will be at COP29 this year where we’re launching a Climate Finance Tracker with African Climate Reality Project Philippines. This tool will help you monitor climate finance flows in your country and validate funded climate projects. We’re calling for an ambitious New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) to help developing countries achieve a Just Transition and shift to clean energy. As countries work toward their climate goals, the need for transparent and equitable  funding is more urgent than ever. Fair financing is critical - African countries need grants to fight climate change and include youth voices in the climate conversation. #COP29 #FairFinancing #ClimateAction #FundTheFuture

LeadingOnClimate in Senegal! 🇸🇳 The African Climate Reality Project facilitated a capacity building workshop on Advancing Local Climate Action in Dakar, Senegal, on the 22nd of October. The aim of this workshop was to capacitate CRLs with resources to advance the work they’re already doing in climate action. At ACRP, we use a train-the-trainer model to build capacity in communities for local African solutions to enable more informed adaptation responses. #ClimateAction #LocalAction #ClimateRealityLeaders #TheAfricaWeWant
