Ramjack Solutions Padels Bara Consulting! A few lucky members of our Johannesburg office got to spend a well-deserved day off in the sun together with our friends from Ramjack Technology Solutions at their inaugural (and now annual) Padel tournament. While some of our consultants delivered returns with dazzling amounts of top spin, others successfully proved that there is no direct correlation between padel prowess and their expertise in mining or minerals processing consulting. Between the 4th to the 6th of September, Bara Group Chairman Jim Pooley was in attendance at the African Down Under (ADU) conference in Perth Australia. The conference focuses on Australian interests on the African continent and serves as a platform for: Australian listed companies with African based investments to promote their projects; and African countries to market themselves to the Australian junior mining sector as a desirable investment destination. The conference is a mix of presentations from junior mining companies active in Africa (approximately 30 presentations) and African countries (approximately 11 presentation), in addition there is a small exhibition floor where approximately 80 entities were on show. African countries in attendance this year included: South Africa, Madagascar, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Ghana, Namibia, Uganda, Cote de Ivoire, Kenya and Guinea. The conference provided a valuable insight into the current level of activity and state of the mining business on the African continent, of particular interest to Bara (having an office located in Johannesburg) was the apparent feel good factor around the South African mining sector subsequent to the recent national elections and the establishment of a Government of National Unity (GNU). Although it is early days for the GNU, the industry seems to approve of this development – now to deliver the goods! #mining #thebaraway

Bara's UK MD Andrew Bamber featured in the August edition of Lawyer Monthly International legal magazine 'Lawyer Monthly' caught up with Bara's UK MD Dr. Andrew Bamber in June to discuss his, and Bara's, approach to Expert Witness work in the mining industry. Topics covered include our obligations as Expert Witnesses, the essential elements of an Expert report, common challenges faced when working with instructing solicitors, the relative merits of acting for Investors or for the State, and measures of success or otherwise of our Expert input. Congratulations Mr. Nicholson! Bara Consulting again congratulates our Principal ESG Consultant Mr. Andrew Nicholson on another milestone achievement. Over the past year, as a Member of the IOM3, Andrew has been training with the Society for the Environment (SOE) as a Chartered Environmentalist. As keen supporters of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), we are pleased to report he has successfully qualified with a C.Env. to add to his already established qualifications as a PGDip(Nat. Resources) and Certified ESG Auditor (CGA). Well done Andrew!

Going International! After many years of growth, starting in South Africa, then extending to the UK, and more recently Canada, Bara Consulting is now going International! In respect of this, and with the aim of better integrating regional office IT services with overall Group IT, we are moving to a harmonised domain ‘www.bara-consulting.com’.
