In real estate, adaptability is key to success. We are continuously refining our strategies to meet emerging trends and challenges. Our legacy is built on adaptability and foresight, recognising that every shift presents an opportunity for us to innovate. Heraclitus wisely stated, “Change is the only constant in life.” This spirit of resilience anchors us in our core values while inspiring us to anticipate future challenges and opportunities. Recent research from McKinsey reveals a powerful truth: companies that excel in managing transformation see significant boosts in performance. In fact, organisations with strong change management practices can achieve up to 143% of their expected returns from initiatives, while those with weaker capabilities reach only 35%. This statistic highlights the critical importance of a robust change strategy at every level of the organisation, from senior leadership to frontline staff. Each tier plays a vital role in the success of our transformation efforts. As we look to the future, our focus remains on maintaining the agility and vision that have propelled us to our current position. In a world where transformation is the norm, our industry’s strength lies in our capacity to continuously refine and reinvent our approach. By fostering a culture of resilience, we are not just prepared to navigate change, but rather ready to shape it. This commitment secures a future rooted in legacy, leadership, and excellence. These insights affirm that in an industry as dynamic as real estate, a proactive approach to transformation is essential for achieving superior performance and adaptability in ever-shifting markets. #BPG #ChangeInRealEstate #FutureOfRealEstate

Taking care of our mental health is important - not just for boosting productivity but also for enhancing our overall quality of life. As we celebrate World Mental Health this month, Mthokozisi Hlengwa, Operations Manager at Broll, shares his tips for prioritising mental well-being in a busy work environment. Edison understands how easy it is to get caught up in daily tasks and meetings. He stresses the need to reconnect with ourselves, especially during hectic times. “I make time to meditate and focus on myself. These moments help me stay grounded and clear-headed. It’s surprising how a little stillness can energise your day,” he says. Setting boundaries is another key part of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Edison protects his personal time by switching off his phone or putting it on silent for a few hours. “Having both a work phone and a personal phone helps me keep the two separate,” he explains. For colleagues who may feel overwhelmed, Edison has some straightforward advice: “Make sure to take a few moments between meetings to breathe and collect your thoughts. This simple pause can make a big difference.” By making these small changes in our daily routines, we can create a healthier workplace. As we reflect on mental health today, let’s remember to support each other and prioritise our well-being. Together, we can foster an environment where everyone can thrive. #BrollPropertyGroup #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAtWork

Our Brollies came together for an inspiring event in support of World Food Day: The Rise Against Hunger Packing Party. With an incredible turnout, we united to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. The set target for today was 43 000 meals, however, with the contribution of the AddHope Foundation, we were able to reach a target of 46 000 meals. This year’s World Food Day theme, "Right to foods for a better life and a better future," served as a powerful reminder of the global call for more diverse, nutritious, and accessible food. Our Brollies wholeheartedly embraced this mission, dedicating their time and energy to packing nutritious meals for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. This initiative will go on to feed 165 children, making it a combined 5 meals a week for the entire year. Our Brollies worked collaboratively in shifts to pack meals, demonstrating remarkable teamwork and embodying the shared commitment to the belief that "If we join hands, we can do more. A huge thank you to all the Brollies who participated, making a meaningful impact. We look forward to future opportunities to join hands and continue making a difference. #BrollPropertyGroup #WorldFoodDay #RiseAgainstHunger #CommunityUpliftment #AddHope

The Grove Mall, proudly managed by Broll, has unveiled an exciting new addition with the launch of the 1st of seven Refinery JNR stores - the brand's very first children’s store. This opening is set to deliver a vibrant, fresh shopping experience for young families, offering high-quality children's fashion and products. More than just a milestone for Refinery, this launch highlights how The Grove Mall is diversifying its retail landscape to better serve the community. The event saw key figures including Shaun hoddy, CEO of Refinery, Johan Kriek, CEO of Resilient along with Julie-Anne Claassen, General Manager of Grove Mall, and Christopher Hutchings, Marketing Manager of Grove Mall, to mark this important occasion. The entire Centre Management team joined in the festivities, making it a memorable day. Kicking off the launch was the energetic 8-year-old Emcee, Desmond Koolen - also known as the 'I Feel Good Kid' - who set the tone for the event with the ribbon-cutting ceremony. He introduced Johan and Shaun, before 6-year old DJ Neo Delicious gave her very first public performance, infusing the day with energy and excitement. The event was a resounding success, with some of South Africa’s beloved mini influencers enjoying the offerings of Refinery JNR. This store is set to become a cornerstone of The Grove community, offering an exceptional retail experience for South Africa’s youngest shoppers. We’re incredibly proud to manage The Grove Mall, the number 1 regional shopping centre in the country, as part of our expansive portfolio that also includes the management of nearly 500 Pepkor stores. As we observe World Mental Health Month, it is essential to focus on how we can prioritise mental health, particularly during high-pressure periods at work. Maintaining well-being in the workplace is crucial, and finding a balance has never been more important. Maria Mailula, Leasing/Debtors Manager at Broll, shares her insights on how she manages to stay balanced and maintain her mental health in the midst of a busy work schedule. Maria emphasises the importance of taking small steps throughout the day to manage stress and avoid burnout. In a fast-paced work environment, finding time to recharge can be challenging. One of the key strategies Maria uses is taking mini breaks between work sessions and meetings. These brief moments of rest provide her with an opportunity to reflect, reset, and reduce stress levels. Maria also highlights the importance of delegating tasks where possible and recognising personal limits. In her view, you don’t need to take on everything - knowing when to ask for help and share responsibilities is vital. When it comes to maintaining boundaries between work and personal time, Maria stresses the importance of clear separation. By completing her tasks within operating hours, she ensures that work stays at the office. This allows her to fully disconnect when the workday is over, leaving her work equipment behind and preserving her personal time. Creating these healthy boundaries is key to preventing work from encroaching on personal life and enables her to maintain a healthy balance. For colleagues who may feel overwhelmed, Maria offers practical advice: start by setting boundaries. It is crucial to draw a clear line between work and personal life and to avoid taking work-related issues personally. By doing this, stress can be kept in check, and a healthier balance can be achieved. By making small, conscious efforts to protect our well-being, we can foster a healthier and more productive workplace. As we continue to focus on balance and mental resilience, let’s remember that supporting each other goes beyond World Mental Health Day - it’s a daily commitment. #BrollPropertyGroup #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAtWork
