That’s exactly why I teamed up with Ross Symons to create this concept for 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC. Sure, it’s attached to the Halloween trend, but it’s more than that—it’s about crafting visuals that hit you in the face with the unexpected. It’s the kind of stuff that makes you stop in your tracks. And while this isn’t real, it’s the kind of bold creativity brands should be chasing.     I’m officially a Slayer Energy Creator! Honestly, this is wild 🥹 To be backed by a brand as fierce and unapologetic as Slayer—I’m still wrapping my head around it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this makes Slayer the first energy drink brand to sponsor a creator on LinkedIn. From day one, this brand stood out for creators who don’t just “do,” they disrupt. And now, I get to carry that energy forward. So what’s next?     Agencies should consider themselves lucky that this campaign isn’t in the running at The Loeries. Imagine going up against a campaign that literally 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙣. No chance, right?     Last week, Slayer Energy did something no big brand ever has. No, I didn’t ask for anything. But the CEO, Denis Vaden, sent me an entire box of Slayer, a cap, and stickers—just off a simple LinkedIn interaction. Didn’t need to. Could’ve ignored me. But he didn’t. The crazy part? I’ve written about some of the biggest brands in the country—Checkers, Woolworths, Yoco, you name it—and I’ve never had a gesture like that from any of them. Most haven’t even engaged with my posts (massive L). So what does that tell you? Slayer Energy, a much smaller brand, is crushing it because they’re not playing by the usual rules—they're a brand that lives and breathes their brand strategy. If you want to build lifelong advocates, you don’t wait for the customer to come to you—you show up. PS. They're fvckn delicious 😮💨 PPS. Denis, you're a legend 🤘🏼 🫡
