About us

Circular South Africa (CSA), has the aim to facilitate cooperation, coordination and networking between businesses, government, knowledge institutions and civil society organisations involved in the circular economy to accelerate the just circular economy transition in South Africa by: - Fulfilling a matchmaker function to connect current and future circular projects with both local and international public/private partnerships to identify further business opportunities and upscale efforts. - Facilitating the CE transition by creating collaboration opportunities, guiding circular policy decision-making and supporting the execution of CE projects and initiatives. - Creating a space for knowledge sharing and capacity building within South Africa and abroad.New paragraph

  • Cape Town’s commitment to recycling: how plastic waste comes full circle Cape Town advances in plastics #recycling with major infrastructure initiatives, driving circular economy goals. The City's materials recovery facility (MRF) in Kraaifontein continues to sort plastic waste efficiently. A new multi-million-rand MRF at Coastal Park landfill will further extend these efforts, serving 27,000 additional households from Constantia to Wynberg through the Think Twice programme. September marked the launch of a R300-million PET plastic processing plant, recycling used PET bottles into new #products. This facility boosts local recycling, supporting sustainable industry practices by keeping PET plastics in circulation.
