EO members were treated to an unforgettable session with bestselling author, global speaker and motorcycling adventurer Joey Evans, CSP. His story exemplifies resilience and determination, and his journey is a testament to the human spirit's capacity to overcome profound challenges. Marco Rosa perfectly encapsulated the event: "A two-and-a-half-hour talk that felt like thirty minutes long. Inspirational stuff. Storytelling at its finest." Joey's ability to engage and inspire left us all reflecting on our own challenges. PG Geldenhuys added: "Joey Evans's tale is one of remarkable fortitude and unyielding resolve. His refusal to surrender, even in the face of profound adversity, should serve as a beacon to us all... His example is not just inspirational; it is a clarion call to rise above our own limitations." Thank you, Joey Evans, for reminding us what true perseverance looks like! #EOCapeTown #JoeyEvans Manuela Dias de Deus

EO Member Jason Bagley shared a recent “Because of EO” experience. “I met Tarikino Jun from EO Kyoto and his family when he visited Cape Town on retreat earlier this year. I kept in touch with him and told him we would visit later this year. While there, he took us out for dinner at one of Kyoto’s best restaurants (1 Michelin star - my first ever!). His wife and daughter showed us how to fold origami, and bought us gifts. Truly an unforgettable “because of EO” experience.” #BecauseOfEO #EoCapeTown #EOKyoto

Wise words …
I have just attended the Entrepreneurs' Organization regional event in Bahrain and had the privilege of listening to the infamous Verne Harnish. Here is what I learnt: 1. Words cast spells. Choose them wisely on ALL communication. 2. Name your annual strategy. It gives it a theme. 3. Get maniacally focused on the soul of your business. The one thing that differentiates you. Attending these global events always gives me the space to get out the forest and gain significant perspective. Big things coming for iLearn | South Africa

It's a Warm Wednesday Welcome to one of our new members, clinton shahim. Clinton is a Johannesburg member of 8 years but has recently established a base in Cape Town. Clinton is a seasoned entrepreneur with a diverse background in law and business. After matriculating from CBC Pretoria and studying at Wits, he spent six years specialising in corporate and tax law before transitioning into entrepreneurship in 1997. Over the years, Clinton has founded, owned, and sold various successful ventures, including a fly-tying factory and Trappers Trading, a chain of over 30 outdoor stores, which he sold to Jonsson Workwear in 2018. Today, he and his wife Lindsay operate the Nuangle Group of Companies, distributing and manufacturing surgical disposable devices and premium anti-ageing products to the medical and aesthetic sectors. His latest venture, Qblok, focuses on a proprietary liquid bulk storage system for the transport /logistics/ water tank industry. Qblok being flat packed and modular, play a central role in product sustainability and the circular economy. Outside of business, Clinton is passionate about outdoor activities, including mountain biking, fly fishing, wing shooting, and wildlife photography. He enjoys travelling, exploring new cultures, and indulging his love for cooking, fine wine, and Scotch. His motto, "You can sleep when you're dead," reflects his energetic and adventurous spirit. We asked Clinton a few fun questions to get to know him better. ❓One thing you can't live without? A gun dog. ❓Your best decision ever? Marrying my wife, Lindsay. ❓Favourite Quote? "Life has no limitations, except the ones you make." - Les Brown ❓Why EO? Forum is paramount for me. There are continuous EO opportunities to gain insights and knowledge and meet diverse, driven entrepreneurs. ❓Best book/movie/podcast/song (choose 1) and one sentence why? For the second year, EO Member Ryan Wintle created another once-in-a-lifetime experience for 20 EO members (representing nine chapters) and SLPs from the USA, Australia, Dubai, SA, Greece, and Saudi Arabia. THE ADVENTURE? To drive Audi R8 (V10 Performance) Spyders through the Alps. EOers met in Munich on a Monday evening for a Bavarian dinner and a discussion with EO member Martin Böhm on conquering Mount Everest. The meal was at Emmeramsmühle, located in a 14th-century mill (a special thanks to Martin Böhm and Elisabeth Fasbender from EO Munich, who arranged this event). Then, on a cool but thankfully dry Tuesday morning, participants met at Audi for a briefing before making their way to the autobahn close to the Dolomites in Northern Italy. The weather played along so they could make full use of the convertibles. The trip was three nights and four days, with each day made up of exciting driving, with a 5-star lunch and dinner. They spent one night at Arosea Spa and then two nights looking over Lake Garda at the magnificent Lefay Resorts & Residences Lago Di Garda. In total, they crossed three borders. And finally, on Friday, they made their way back to Munich. The most significant takeaway? Solid relationships are formed when we spend quality time with members of our tribe. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE AN ADVENTURE YOU WOULD LOVE TO MAKE? Ryan hopes to host the third trip in 2025, so sign up to the MyEO platform to have a chance to join next year. What an incredible achievement! Tracy Jones and her amazing team at Dialogue Communications have won nine awards at the 2024 The New Generation Social & Digital Media Awards (New Gen Awards), including four Black Onyx Awards for their unforgettable #BokFriday campaign! 🏆🥇 The New Generation Awards represent the pinnacle of achievement in South Africa, for social and digital media, integrated marketing and the online tech sectors. "It was a career-defining moment and one I will never forget. It's one thing to have a strong inner belief in the vision you're creating for your agency and the value of the work you deliver to clients. But, when your agency peers and senior marketers subjectively and collectively judge your work as the best in the industry, that's incredibly meaningful and deeply personal. " - Tracy Jones. Here's to many more innovative wins, Tracy! #EOCapeTown #AwardWinning #DigitalExcellence

**A Memorable Luncheon at Chef's Warehouse Tintswalo** On 26 July, we arranged a lunch experience for our tenured members at the Tintswalo Chef's Warehouse in Hout Bay. It was a great chance to reconnect with longtime EO friends, meet some new tenured members, and enjoy some amazing food and wine. But it was also a time to say goodbye to two legends of our chapter: Graeme Prevost and Lesley Waterkeyn. Graeme and Lesley have been pioneers from the start. Their role in establishing our local Cape Town and South African chapters, and their contribution to launching chapters all over South Africa and Africa, is immeasurable. Their hard work and dedication have set high standards for all of us. Graeme's vision and Lesley's leadership have left a lasting impact, and their absence will be deeply felt. We are immensely grateful for everything they've done. We also said farewell to tenured member John Walls. Thank you John for all the good energy you have imparted in your time in EO (including making the Cyril Axelrod event such a success) and we look forward to staying connected with these EO legends via our newly launched Elumni programme. QUOTES "A big shoutout goes to Yvonne Wakefield , Jo Grace, and Gaynor MacArthur for organising such a memorable event. Stay tuned for the next EO Tenured event, which we'll be setting up in January 2025. We can't wait to see everyone again." Adrien Erasmus - Engagement Co-Chair, Tenured Member Champion. "It's an extraordinary testament to the power of EO that as a new member of Cape Town Chapter I felt immediately at home, welcome and included. Amazing to see so many members that I've interacted and developed relationships with over the years. I feel privileged and grateful." JP Villion "What a privilege to be a part of the Tenured member community and spend quality time with fellow members. What was so clear is how deep and meaningful the relationships that have developed over the past 10-15 years have become." Leor Atie #EOCapeTown #EntrepreneursOrg
