Chikondi Gurira is a seasoned organizational leader, she has a proven track record in managing national and continent-wide voluntary engineering societies. Leveraging her expertise in nonprofit and consulting engineering business management, Chikondi drives financial sustainability, operational effectiveness, and impactful project management at EWB-SA. Her career spans leadership roles in prominent engineering organizations, including the South African Institute of Agricultural Engineers (#SAIAE), the South African National Committee on Large Dams (#SANCOLD), and the Pan African Society for Agricultural Engineers (#PASAE). Through these roles, she has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to advancing engineering at both local and international levels. In her consulting engineering portfolio, Chikondi has worked on a wide range of projects, including #irrigation schemes, #dairy parlors, #borehole livestock watering systems, and #agroprocessing facilities, serving government, parastatal, and private sector clients, primarily in KwaZulu-Natal. Under her leadership, #EWBSA empowers engineers and engineering students to make a positive impact in underserved communities. Through innovative projects, workshops, and design challenges, her team fosters social impact enabled by engineering.
