🌟 Day 3 of our EWB-SA event was nothing short of epic! We kicked off the day with an empowering session focused on one of the most challenging aspects of any project: fundraising. Our participants gained invaluable insights into crafting compelling project proposals that attract funding. This session was voted the most insightful of the day, highlighting the importance of equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in real-world challenges. 🎓💡 The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the panel discussion featuring industry leaders who shared their incredible journeys from being part of EWB-SA to achieving success in their respective fields. It was inspiring to witness the genuine connection between the panelists and the students, as thoughtful questions were met with relatable and impactful answers. This exchange of experiences not only motivated our attendees but also sparked meaningful conversations about the potential pathways available to them. 🌍✨ Stay tuned as we prepare to share more about this engaging panel discussion! What an experience we all had. We have a great community of engineers!!
I had the privilege of attending the annual Engineers Without Borders South Africa National Student Retreat ! It truly felt like a mini reunion as I got to see some of my favorite engineers. The student chapters are the pulse of this engineering community and the opportunity to awaken and empower the spark in them in a tangible manner is always a privilege. I really enjoyed this panel discussion led by Vuma Ntobela talking to EWB-SA Alumni Nikita Vala , Wiebke Hutiri , Khaya Mxenge and Yen-Hsiang Jason Huang about how their time at EWB-SA has helped shaped their engineering stories. I was just so happy to see that Africa’s future is still in tact. The budding engineers are curious and buzzing with energy. It’s our responsibility as leaders to build systems and organizations that will improve Africa’s infrastructure so they can grow up in a better society. Well done to the organizing team 👏🏾 ! Chikondi Gurira , Vuma Ntobela, Sewakhile Mthethwa Robyn Clark, Linae and Nothando. So proud of the whole team !! #engineerswithoutborders #engineers #womeninengineering #women #leaders #engineering #learning #leadership #southafrica #africa #youthleadership

🌟 As we step into the new year, many of us are setting our sights on new goals and resolutions. At EWB-SA, we believe that everyone—engineers and non-engineers alike—can benefit from a solid foundation to achieve both short-term wins and long-term success. With that in mind, we want to share three key pillars that resonate with everyone: 1️⃣ Resilience: This is the capacity to bounce back from challenges. Every journey will have its ups and downs, but it's how we respond to setbacks that truly shapes our success. Embrace obstacles as opportunities to grow stronger! 2️⃣ Resourcefulness: Life often throws unexpected challenges our way. Being resourceful means finding creative solutions and leveraging available resources to overcome these hurdles. Think outside the box, and you’ll discover pathways that others may overlook. 3️⃣ Result-driven: It’s essential to focus on the outcomes rather than just the processes. Keep your eyes on the goal, and let your results speak for themselves. Remember, success is not measured by the effort alone but by the impact you create. At EWB-SA, we remind our members that nothing great ever comes easy; if it did, everyone would be doing it. But take heart! As long as you stay committed and trust in your capabilities, there’s no limit to what you can achieve. So, as you set your intentions for this year, remember these pillars. Let’s embark on this journey together, fueled by resilience, resourcefulness, and a results-driven mindset. Now go out there and make it happen! 💪✨ #NewYear #Goals #Resilience #Resourcefulness #ResultsDriven #ProfessionalDevelopment #EngineeringExcellence
