A human rights organization that supports civil society organizations (CSOs) in South Africa-A Just Society For All!

About us

The Foundation for Human Rights (FHR) is a human rights organization and supports the human rights and social justice sector through grant-making, the design and implementation of human rights programmes, and research and policy development. The aims of the FHR are to build a human rights culture and to address the historical legacy of apartheid, using the South African Constitution as a tool. The FHR supports civil society organizations and public institutions that promote and facilitate increased awareness, respect, protection, and fulfilment of the rights enshrined in the Constitution. The FHR currently implements a number of programmes addressing human rights issues, including the Socio-Economic Justice for All (SEJA) programme and the Unfinished Business of the TRC.
