Nowadays the word ‘Custom’ built is used very haphazardly. At GEMINI MARINE (PTY) LTD we pride ourselves in our ability to take a customer brief, work together on a project plan and ultimately deliver a world class ‘Custom’ offering that meets and exceeds expectations.
So, what exactly is a ‘Custom’ built boat?
· Unique Design that ends up as a one-of-a-kind vessel
· The customer / organization works closely with us during the design & build to create a vessel tailored to their specific needs
· Custom GEMINI RIBS often feature unique design elements, high-quality materials, and innovative technologies that set them apart from mass-produced vessels
· Our GEMINI Custom-built boats have superior craftsmanship that results in a higher quality, that can better withstand the rigors of the marine environment.
Below is a current example of a CUSTOM GEMINI Project on the go.
GEMINI RESCUE 880 Prototype for remote Island Rescue Organization
The Gemini WR-880 as a Rescue Platform is a remarkable vessel, with impressive capabilities making it an asset for Search and Rescue operators. It is a very versatile and maneuverable RIB, suitable for a range of rescue scenarios in coastal waters.
· Custom designed rear A-Frame to accommodate a vast range of possible operational and electronic accessories including:
o A complete emergency manual self-righting system
o DF Aerial – RT-300, RADAR, VHF Aerial, FLIR

· LCG and Lifting parameters:
o The LCG is an important parameter in determining the stability and handling characteristics of a boat. It's the point where the weight of the boat can be concentrated, and it affects how the boat responds to changes in loading, trim, and steering.
o The Longitudinal Centre of Gravity (LCG) of a Gemini WR-880 RIB is typically around 3 meters from the Transom of the vessel. (Note: this value can vary depending on the specific configuration, loading, and equipment of the boat)
· Key features of this design:
o Design Cat: B
o LOA 8.80 meters, Beam 2.95 meters
o Seating: Max PAX of 16
o Manual Self-righting in the event of a capsize, assisting with crew and passenger survivability
