These upgrades include essential roof repairs, installation of fire protection systems, and updates to meet building compliance standards. In early October, the JDA hosted a stakeholder forum meeting about the City Library. Some of the outcomes from the meeting include: • A common goal was reached that the opening of the library will take place in early 2025. • Safety and compliance with City by-laws. • Greater and harmonious stakeholder consultation. A crucial step toward reopening, as part of EMS compliance, involves the installation of a 300-kilolitre fire water tank, supported by a pumping system to enhance fire safety.
