🌿 We’re celebrating Heritage Day with South Africa’s indigenous foods! 🌿 South Africa has a rich heritage of indigenous foods and crops that are all too often overlooked. From the comforting warmth of phuthu/mieliepap to the unique flavours of waterblommetjiebredie, kei apple jam, and mashed amadumbe, our traditional foods tell a story of resilience and connection to the land. These crops are not only deeply rooted in our culture but are also champions of sustainability. They’re drought resistant, thrive even in poor soils, and are packed with nutrition.
