SA Children's Home / SA Kinderhuis reposted this
This Saturday, our family decided to share some some love and support SA Children's Home / SA Kinderhuis in our annual Seva project. We ran an essential food and toiletry drive and collected items for just over a week as well as provided lunch and snacks for the children on the day. We would like to give a huge thank you🙏💛 to everyone who contributed to the success of the food and toiletry drive. Your help and assistance no matter how small made a huge impact to the children of SA Children’s Home. We donated over R6000 worth of supplies! Some of which included: 100+ bars of soap 70+ tubes of toothpaste 50 toothbrushes 70+ bottles of lotion 40+ roll-on deodorants 33Kg Maize Meal 28Kg Flour 60Kg Rice 4Kg Pasta And much more... It was truly amazing to witness the staff's and children's appreciation and gratitude for these supplies. As an NPO they rely on donations to continue to provide a child with a place where they can receive loving care and become well-adjusted, productive citizens of our country. So, please consider donating to this amazing organization. Seva is a Sanskrit word that describes the act of selfless service. It encompasses a miriad of emotions, principles and values that all aim to uplift humanity. Seva is associated with many core Hindu principles and practices such as Karma yoga (disciplined action), bhakti yoga (disciplined devotion), Dāna (gift giving), Karunā (compassion) and Preman (kindness).
