Driving Solutions Through Collaboration At the South African Iron and Steel Institute (SAISI), we don’t just identify challenges in the steel industry—we take the lead in recommending practical solutions. That’s why we’re actively involved in initiatives that drive industry progress. In collaboration with ISTraining Consultants, SAISI recently had the privilege to host the Metal Specialist Training session. Insightful beneficial information was presented to the Custom officials by some of the key industry associations: the Association of Steel Tube & Pipe Manufacturers of South Africa (ASTPM), the Southern African Metal Cladding and Roofing Association (SAMCRA), the Southern African Stainless Steel Development Association (Sassda), and the Association of Electric Cable Manufacturers of South Africa (AECMSA).  SAISI members ArcelorMittal and SAFAL also had the privilege to each host the Metal Specialist Factory Training Sessions.

Sassda recently participated in a highly successful Metals Specialist Factory Training session, hosted by South African Iron and Steel Institute (SAISI). This event brought together stainless-steel industry representatives and SARS officials to address key operational challenges such as imports, duties, and compliance issues. Sassda’s Market Intelligence Specialist Tebogo Nkwe stated, "This session provided an invaluable platform for addressing critical industry concerns with SARS, paving the way for long-term improvements in the way our industry interacts with regulatory authorities."
