MEMBER NEWS: Scatec ASA's Powering the Future: The Critical Role of Energy Education in South Africa's Just Transition The renewable energy sector stands at a crucial intersection of technology, sustainability, and social development in South Africa. As we navigate the complexities of our energy transition, one thing becomes increasingly clear: success depends not just on infrastructure development, but on building human capacity and understanding at the grassroots level. This is why Scatec finds initiatives like SAWEA's energyDRIVE are so vital to our nation's future. The innovative mobile unit, bringing hands-on renewable energy education directly to our host communities represents more than just a teaching tool – it's a catalyst for transformation in communities that have historically been left behind in technological advancement. At Scatec, we've witnessed firsthand how practical demonstration of renewable energy technologies can spark genuine change. This tangibility is crucial for communities that might otherwise feel disconnected from South Africa's energy transition. "The future of renewable energy in South Africa isn't just about technology – it's about people. Through energyDRIVE, we're empowering the next generation to lead our energy transition." - Suama Abiatar, MBA, Social Performance Manager, Scatec. #windindsutry #sawea #youthinre #renwableenergy #scatec
