📢 The aRe Bapaleng Expert Forum is coming to Limpopo, Modimolle! Following the impactful forum in the Free State two months ago, we’re bringing the conversation to the Limpopo community, gathering leaders, experts, partners, innovators, and ECD practitioners to focus on advancing Early Childhood Development. The forum will bring together diverse voices to explore critical aspects of ECD, including current trends in ECD research and the essential role of parent and caregiver engagement. Discussions will also cover strategies for holistic development programs, early childhood mental health services, and healthcare practices that support child development. The forum will also review existing ECD policies to identify gaps and areas for advocacy. The roundtable discussion by UNDP and the Open Society Foundations on “The Just Energy Transition (JET) and South Africa’s Youth Unemployment” brought out key insights from a survey conducted by the Seriti Institute. This survey, titled The Just Energy Transition: From the Perspectives of South African Mining Communities, captured the voices of 10,000 people from mining communities across South Africa. These insights provide a strong foundation for shaping JET initiatives that focus on youth.   The next step is to turn these insights into actionable programs. Priority areas include creating awareness and building skills, both of which should be developed closely with communities to reflect their needs and goals. This approach will empower communities to participate actively in the JET and will open new opportunities for youth employment and sustainable growth in a transitioning economy.
