💡 Moniepoint’s New Innovation to Transform Inventory Management for African Businesses 💡 Moniepoint is testing new PoS system that combines payment processing with inventory management. This is a much-needed step forward in solving the ongoing challenges businesses face in Africa, such as poor record-keeping, theft, and inefficient financial management. For many small and medium-sized businesses in Africa, managing both sales and inventory with outdated methods has led to revenue leakages and missed opportunities for growth. Moniepoint’s new PoS system aims to: ✅ Track stock levels in real-time ✅ Automatically record every sale ✅ Simplify business finances ✅ Make it easier for businesses to access loans by providing clear financial records By acquiring Grocel, a company specializing in inventory management solutions, Moniepoint is bringing together payment processing and business management in one easy-to-use, affordable platform. With over 800,000 PoS terminals already in circulation and 2 million businesses on the platform, Moniepoint is in a strong position to drive this innovation forward and help businesses across Africa. Could this system make life easier for business owners? It certainly has the potential to reduce inefficiencies and boost growth. • Valuable lessons from a seasoned founder: Focus on customer needs, save up before launching, and leverage AI to reduce cost

CEO at Insight7 | The easiest way to analyze conversations at scale

I've turned down a few acquisition offers over the last three months, and I no longer respond to most investor inquiries. It’s one of those ironies—when you need money, no one wants to give it to you, but when you don’t, everyone wants to offer it. In our first year, we spent a ton of time pursuing investors. After failing woefully at raising money, I shifted focus to the market—the customer. What urgent problems did they have? How much were they willing to pay? How could we acquire most of those paying customers? That shift changed everything for us. Today, we're a customer-funded business. I recall one investor telling me that, as CEO, I should spend most of my time meeting investors and raising money. I disagreed, especially since we were still early. That particular investor ghosted me and never acknowledged my follow-up emails after two meetings. Biggest lesson: If you're starting something new and don’t have investor friends willing to cut you checks, your best bet is to start on the side, save up first, or launch with a cash-flowing business/service to get off the ground. You do need capital (especially if you have a family, kids, and bills). Don't believe those who tell you otherwise. It's also way cheaper to build today with AI, and over the next decade, the power dynamics will shift more from investors to founders. ----- At Insight7, we're helping businesses across industries analyze & evaluate customer calls for insights. Would love to chat if you have this problem.
