We are pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Brook as Managing Director of UMS PROJECTS, our international professional engineering services division.   Greg is a Professional Project Manager and Engineer with more than 25 years of global mining and minerals experience. His wealth of international experience includes advising mining and process clients, in a multitude of commodities, on: • Project Management of large greenfield and brownfield projects, including infrastructure designs and construction management for mining, bulk power, water and housing.  • Advising clients on bankable feasibility studies, project implementation strategies, setup, management, execution, commissioning and closure. • Determining best access methods for vertical and decline shafts including narrow reef, LHOS, block caving and opencast mining. Greg has an expert understanding of Integrated Project Management systems including Safety, Health, Risk and Quality and is very familiar with the EPC & EPCM project environments. VACANCY: Fitter: Cactus Grab-Type Lashing Unit We are currently looking for an experienced candidate to join our site team in BRAZIL. The primary purpose of this role is to perform mechanical services and repairs on the specialized equipment used during shaft sinking and construction, and to ensure that the relevant sinking equipment used at the operation is operated and maintained to the required safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include: • Daily operational activities – specialized focus on maintenance & repair on mechanical/ pneumatic/hydraulic systems and equipment. • Daily reporting and recording of work completed. • Team supervision. • Dealing with breakdowns. • Safety, Health Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) compliance, focusing on health and safety standards. • May be required to assist with other work and must thus be a team player.
