Wildeklawer Farm shines at sport day On 21 September, Wildeklawer held its highly anticipated annual sports day against the Johannesburg Market, marking another exciting chapter in the long-standing tradition. This annual event alternates between Johannesburg and Wildeklawer, with this year's edition taking place at Hoërskool Vaalrivier in Barkly-West. The day saw an impressive turnout of 102 participants from the Johannesburg Market competing across various sports. Teams included one mixed volleyball team, two netball teams and four soccer teams, with representation from the Masters team, a ladies' team and a junior team. In what turned out to be a dominant performance, Wildeklawer emerged victorious in almost all competitions, winning every category except for the Masters division. The overall trophy was still secured by Wildeklawer, adding to our already impressive tally. The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony where trophies and medals were awarded to both teams and individuals. Notable awards included the best soccer player, best netball player and best volleyball player, recognising the top performers of the day. Approximately 2,500 people attended the event, creating a lively and spirited atmosphere. The highlight of the day came during the main soccer match, which ended in a thrilling penalty shootout. Wildeklawer triumphed in the shootout, securing their victory and sealing a successful day for the academy. The event was a great success, with plenty of competitive spirit, teamwork and sportsmanship on display, reinforcing the strong bond between the Wildeklawer and the Johannesburg Market community.

Look at our beautiful wheat we planted in June on Wildeklawer Farm. Despite some winter frost, we’re pleased to report there was no damage. We had nice Spring rain and just upgraded our pump and pivot irrigation system. Harvest season is just around the corner in November and December. It’s shaping up to be a great year for wheat! 🌾 #Wildeklawer #WheatHarvest #Agriculture #FarmLife
