  • Following successful “undercover” activities by Chongwe AYPs in various health facilities, a Values Clarification and Attitude Training (VCAT) training was held where they presented their finding to stakeholders. A two-day VCAT training was held at Council Rest House, Chongwe District on 16 – 17th October, 2024. Upon identifying the gabs in the health facilities, stakeholder delved into the development of work plans that will include interventions tailored to meeting the health needs of young people in the district. It was highlighted during the meeting that creating a safe environment for quality access to health care services for AYPs will be critical in improving the wellbeing of AYPs in Chongwe. We are optimistic that these joint efforts in reducing new HIV infections among AYPs through improved health systems in our country will yield positive results.   In attendance were stakeholders from various health facilities, DACA, Religious Leaders, Traditional Leaders and the parents. • All gratitude to the Adolescents and Young People (AYPs) who attended the Adaptive Leadership Zambia’s first of its kind AYP conference that took place in all the 22 districts on the 11th and 18th November, 2023. This year’s theme; “Healthy Choices, Bright Futures” is a reminder to the young people of the value that lies in making choices that assures a bright future. In addition, #ThatONEisYOU tagline puts an individual at the center of a holistic change in their community. The AYPs can contribute significantly to alleviating new HIV infections in the country. The numbers are alarming as the AYPs are the epicenter of the new HIV infections in the country accounting for 50% of the recorded new annual infections, this means approximately 90,000 of those aged between 10 and 19 are living with the virus, with only half of them are on antiretroviral therapy (ART) The health of AYPs is our core objective. Therefore, having coordinated these momentous events across the country is a testament of our mission to engage young people and meet their needs holistically. This is just the beginning of the long-lasting relationships we envision to build amongst the young people through these networks. As Adaptive Leadership Zambia we believe in team work. This is the reason why we desire to work together with various stakeholders to contribute to changing the current HIV status quo. To all our stakeholders we say THANKYOU. WE DID IT!!! #Twatasha #Zikomo #Litumezi #Twalumba #Twasakwila #Twatota #AYPConference2023 #HeathyChoicesBrighterFutures #ThatONEisYOU! #MinistryofHealth #GlobalFund #AdaptiveLeadership
