AWARDING THE BEST GRADUATING STUDENTS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AT MULUNGUSHI UNIVERSITY - 16TH GRADUATION CEREMONY On 1st November 2024, I had the distinct honor of presenting awards to the best performing students in Computer Science at Mulungushi University, Luswepo Silumbwe and Chimuka Kasumo, celebrating their outstanding achievements and dedication. This ceremony was not only about recognizing academic excellence but also about inspiring these bright minds as they embark on their professional journeys in the ICT field. During my address, I shared insights into the role of the ICT Association of Zambia - ICTAZ in supporting professional growth. We explored together the future of ICT, discussing emerging trends and how students can proactively prepare to excel in the industry. I emphasized that while academic knowledge forms a solid foundation, real-world readiness requires going beyond the classroom. Leveraging additional resources, staying updated on evolving technologies, and engaging with ICTAZ's offerings can be game-changers in building a competitive edge. I also shared resources that students can use to advance their professional skills, encouraging them to seize these opportunities early. I emphasized that preparing for the demands of the ICT industry requires both knowledge and hands-on exposure, and ICTAZ is committed to bridging this gap by providing mentorship, networking, and learning avenues. I also had the privilege of hearing directly from the students about the challenges they face. Their feedback was invaluable, and it strengthened my resolve to ensure that ICTAZ remains responsive to their needs. Together with the main body of ICTAZ, I am confident we can work towards addressing these issues, making ICTAZ a valuable pillar for their professional development. Congratulations once again to the graduating class! 🎓👏 Your hard work has brought you this far, and with continued growth and support, the future holds even greater achievements. Let’s keep the passion alive and together shape the future of ICT in Zambia!
