A torchbearer in advocating for the rights and interests of persons with disabilities in Zambia.
About us
A torchbearer in Advocating for the Rights and Interests of Persons Disabilities in Zambia. Our mission statement is to unlock opportunities for persons with disabilities in Zambia. To achieve the foregoing, we work hand in hand with the civil service in lobbying for employment and other empowerment opportunities. This is because we believe that the Sililo Foundation believes in not only advocating for policy change, but also in seeing to it that the Zambian disability community has a dignified livelihood through financial empowerment. The organisation also deals with disability policy advocacy to ensure that the Zambian disability community's rights and interests are respected. It deals with disability policy analysis to look for loopholes in the Zambian Disability Act, that are working to the exclusion of persons with disabilities in actively participating in the country’s national affairs. Lastly, as a way of working hand in hand with the government in bettering the lives of the Zambian disability community, we conduct research on the challenges persons with disabilities face, and submit with recommendations to policy makers, and push that action is taken in meeting up to the recommendations.
