As #CHAC2024 draws to a close today, The Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Research Zimbabwe (CeSHHAR Zimbabwe)'s Director Professor Stanley Luchters reflects on the landmark conference as a catalyst for action in bringing climate change and health research and policymaking closer together in Africa. #CHAC2024 was the first event of its kind, bringing together over 400 delegates from 30 countries across Africa, including Ministers of Health, healthcare professionals, leading researchers from around the globe, and funders involved in climate and health. The event was supported by a group of global partners, including LSTM. #CHAC2024 concluded with the launch of the ‘Harare Declaration on Climate and Health in Africa’, outlining a unified approach for climate-related health priorities going forward.
