Our CEO, Philippe Labonne, led the business delegation organized by Mouvement des Entreprises de France International to Zimbabwe. During the visit, he met with Dr. John Mangudya, CEO of the Mutapa Investment Fund, Mr. Steve Matoushaya, CEO of Zimbabwe Institute of Tax Accountants, along with several public decision-makers and representatives from the private sector (Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries and Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce). He also visited AGL’s offices and met the teams in Harare. It was an enriching opportunity to engage with a dynamic group of professionals, led by Valéry DJAMBY, CEO of AGL Zimbabwe. Following this visit, Philippe highlighted Zimbabwe’s immense potential, underscoring the entrepreneurial spirit and energy driving its growth. The business environment offers promising opportunities, and AGL is excited to support this dynamic market. A special thank you to the local authorities, the private sector for their warm welcome, and to Mr. Paul-Bertrand, the French Ambassador to Zimbabwe, for his invaluable support throughout this mission. #AGL #Zimbabwe #AfricaTransformation

🌍🤝Cooperation between Zimbabwe and French Business kicks off! #Cassava #Industrial Hemp #Water Infrastructure #Global logistics and Corridors Solutions #Renewable Energy #Bridge Infrastructure #Steel #Laundromarts and Cashless Vending Machines Over the past two days, a delegation of 13 companies facilitated by MEDEF International visited Zimbabwe to explore investment and business opportunities across sectors such as logistics, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, renewable energy, and water management. In partnership with the French Embassy, CZI organized a business networking reception at the French Ambassador's residence on October 17th, where business connections were initiated. This was followed by the signing of an MOU at CZI’s offices on the 18th of October. This agreement aims to promote future business exchanges to strengthen economic ties between France and Zimbabwe. One of the companies is Suez International which is known for building the world renowned Suez Canal. The French Delegation expressed interest to enter the Zimbabwean market through: - Establishing partnerships with local Zimbabwean companies and entrepreneurs\across various sectors, with a focus on developing mutually beneficial business relationships. - Promoting investment by French SMEs into Zimbabwean SMEs -Facilitating Zimbabwean investors who may want to invest in France - Create a pipeline of pre-qualified local companies to cooperate with as local participants in large-scale infrastructure projects. CZI together with MEDEF have therefore started the match making connections which will continue and culminate in a Zimbabwe business delegation to France in 2025. #BusinessPartnership #Zimbabwe #France #CZI #MEDEFInternational #EconomicCollaboration #Infrastructure #RenewableEnergy #Logistics #WaterManagement #InvestmentOpportunities Zimbabwe Investment & Development Agency - ZIDA

Yesterday, we visited Davipel Holdings, a dynamic Zimbabwean enterprise specializing in food manufacturing. Their divisions include Davipel Snacks, Agri-Milling (Maize & Stock Feeds), and Davipel Freight Services. Here are some facts about Davipel Holdings: - Since 2002, the company has grown from small beginnings, operating in one room in Harare’s CBD to become a leading player in Zimbabwe's manufacturing employing over 400 people in Zimbabwe, with operations in Harare and Bulawayo. - Their factories produce a variety of products, including Sunny Roller Meal, Sunny Super Refined Meal, and Sunny Instant Porridge from maize meal. - They produce their own main raw material, Grits - which is used for production of corn snacks and instant porridges. - Their milling operation has a capacity of 10 tonnes per hour. - The Jumbo snack brand is their flagship product, leading the market with over 1,000 tonnes produced monthly. - They are preparing to commission a new stock feed manufacturing plant featuring cutting-edge technology—the latest in Africa—which will become their flagship project in 2025. - Davipel also partners with leading wholesalers and retailers, producing their mealie meal household brands. #DavipelHoldings #ZimbabweManufacturing #CZI #IndustryLeadership #Innovation #FoodManufacturing

Spotlight on the Timber Industry #Timber #Manufacturing #BusinessOpportunities The domestic furniture and shopfitting market has grown from USD 30 million in 2000 to over USD 200 million annually. Yet, USD 65 million of this market is filled by imports. 📊 With formal manufacturing capacity utilisation down to 35%, there's a need to revitalise the sector, formalise the informal, create jobs, and strengthen Zimbabwe’s timber value chain. 💡🌱 #LocalProduction #Sustainability #FurnitureIndustry #Zimbabwe #BusinessGrowth

They still export products made from Zimbabwean cotton and have opened home stores across the country's main shopping centres to retail their products alongside locally manufactured home wear and accessories. The screen printed fabrics and the 100% cotton throws are some of their popular export products. @kadoma
