ABOUT MCAZ The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act (MASCA) [Chapter 15.03]. MCAZ is a successor of the Drugs Control Council (DCC) and the Zimbabwe Regional Drug Control Laboratory (ZRDCL). MCAZ's mandate is achieved through the regulation of the manufacturing, distribution, storage and sale of medicines and medical devices. Mission To ensure access to safe, effective and good quality medical products and allied substances for the protection of public and animal health. Vision To be an effective and efficient regulator for medical products and allied substances in Zimbabwe, and a comparative regulator globally. Condolence Message It is with deep sorrow that we learnt of the passing of Air Commodore (Rtd) Peter Gedion Sheik Zimondi on Friday, 13th September 2024. The late Air Commodore (Rtd) Zimondi was a valued board member of the Authority, serving as the Chairperson of the Human Resources Committee and the Controlled Substances Committee. we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Zimondi family, colleagues, and all who were touched by his exceptional service.
